What Are The Effects Of Cold Therapy
Feb 10, 2021| The human body's reaction caused by local cold therapy has two aspects: a local direct effect and a secondary systemic reaction. Local reactions are manifested by skin vasoconstriction, decreased sweat gland secretion, and pale skin; peripheral sensory and motor nerve fiber conduction velocity slows down.
Generally, the nerve conduction velocity will decrease by 2m/s every time the temperature drops by 1℃. Cold reduces the function of skin nerve receptors, or even temporarily loses them.
